Five signed, limited edition prints from the second exhibition of the photography of my grandfather, Herbert Smith FRPS.

Curated and edited personally by Jack, Herbert's Grandson, Almost Home is less about a specific place or time period, and more about something more universal: the feeling of a summer coming to an end, the anticipation of returning home, and the brief period in which the familiar feels slightly unfamiliar. 

These images span countries and three decades of travel - moments of quiet stillness suspended in time, accentuated by his early adoption and love for 35mm Kodachrome and Agfachrome colour film. Journeys now long completed, rediscovered decades later by the grandson the photographer never had the chance to meet.
