What is interesting about these photos is what wasn't taken, rather than what was. Despite Leningrad (now St Petersburg) being a place of great interest to photograph, this was 1978. My Grandad Herbert was told he couldn't photograph many areas, meaning the collection holds but a few photos of this city.  All images are available as bespoke prints on a request basis only.
