Mother And Child
India (1982)
The untold story: A mother and her daughter dip between the arches in the Golden Temple in Amritsar, Punjab.
A sacred place for Sikhs around the globe, this photo was actually the site for conflict at this time in 1982, which saw a period of serious unrest in the Punjab culminating in Operation Blue Star in 1984 at this exact site in the photo.
For this reason, anyone interested in obtaining my Grandad’s images of this site and its people may do so free of charge via Instagram or the contact form on the website.
